Meet Our Minis
Tubby was sold at an exotic auction in Oklahoma when he was only 14 days old. Let that sink in first.
When you’re busy and you least expect it, there just always seems to be another horse that finds its way to the Ranch. George was just that horse.
How could we look away from that old face? How could we see the need in his eyes and think, “someone else will take him.” We couldn’t.
We brought Martha home during a snow storm in January 2019. She was barely three months old at the time.
Within hours of bringing Booker Baby home, he was immediately assessed and started treatment for pneumonia, compromised lung capacity and an ulcer in his left eye.
In 2018, our vet randomly commented to us, “I’m surprised you don’t have the new minis that are at Longmeadow.” Hmmm, off to investigate...
Sherman and Miss Makenzie are our very first mini's. We found them on Craigslist and they were about six hours away from St. Louis.
Ella and Sophie, sisters, at the age of two, were purchased from a person who owned large scale amusement parks.
Rescued from auction at the age of four months, Stanley has grown to be our all around “good guy” of the barn.
Tansy is our first Haflinger. Purchased in 2015, Tansy is one of the most senior horses in our barn at the age of coming 22 years.
Adopted from the Missouri Humane Society's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, Bambi is a beautiful Shetland Pony. Milton shares a stall with Bambi although he is a miniature donkey.
Eleanor is like many horses of the world. Molly is one heck of a cute little donkey.
Banks was unable to keep up with the bigger ponies hitched to the carousel and was, therefore, considered disposable.
Teddy was our surprise baby, born June 2020 to Eleanor. When Eleanor was rescued from Auction in the Fall of 2019, never once did it occur to us that the 19 year old, partially blind mare, could be pregnant.
Chloe is a 17 year old Welsh Pony cross. We adopted her from Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in August 2016.
